Excerpt "Perfect
Speed"
"WHAT’S AGE GOT TO DO WITH IT?
Now you're worried. You have started contemplating your life from the standpoint of being in
control of your intentions, which start with your beliefs. If you are effective in making this transition,
you now know there is no longer anyone or anything to blame. You do a quick assessment.
You could have gone so much farther. If you had set your sights earlier, you might have made the
decision to be the CEO of a large company. You might not have been so satisfied to live your life in
the
shadow of others. You might have chosen to start
your own business and live where you chose instead of being at the mercy of the choices of others. You are now
starting to realize that the people you allowed to make decisions for you are living their reality too. You look at
their personal and professional lives and you think that perhaps they are not such great
decision‐makers.
You look at your personal life and decide that you would have lived it much differently if you
had realized that you were ultimately responsible for how it all turned out. You would have spent more time
or different time with your children. Your relationship with your spouse would have been very different, or
perhaps your spouse would have been different.
You start to feel overwhelmed by the futility of all of the things you might have done
differently. That is of course, if you choose to believe that the results of everything in your life were
your intention, as determined by your belief system.
Time is the enemy now. You have lost so much time. Perhaps it is too late. If you had known in
your twenties that you had beliefs ingrained in you that would get in your way, you would have been more
ruthless with them. You would have identified any insecurity as a belief and you would have known how to
insert new beliefs that would have served you better."
